Hello, I am lactose intolerant. Every time I am going to consume dairy products, I have to take 3 to 4 extra strength lactose caplets. Is there anything I can take, so I would not be lactose intolerant? Thank you

Unfortunately, once your body has stopped producing the lactase enzyme that breaks down lactose it is not likely you will make it again.  You may find that consuming small amounts of easily digested dairy products like cheese may get easier over time.  Always use the lactose caplets to avoid any uncomfortable symptoms.  Also, I found through patient feedback that the chewable lactose pills work better and require less of a dose.

On the bright side, there are many great tasting lactose free alternatives to ice cream, cheeses and milks.  Try these and most likely you won’t miss dairy products too much anymore.
