For the health condition: Adrenal Fatigue
Synopsis
Source of validity: Traditional
Rating (out of 5): 1
Eurycomanone is a quassinoid compound found in the roots of Eurycoma longifolia (commonly known as Tongkat Ali). Its use to support or "treat" so-called "Adrenal Fatigue" is rooted primarily in traditional herbal medicine, particularly in Southeast Asia, where Eurycoma longifolia has been used as a general tonic, for increasing energy, and for enhancing vitality. The concept of "Adrenal Fatigue" itself is not widely recognized in mainstream medicine, and there is no direct clinical evidence linking eurycomanone or Tongkat Ali to improving adrenal gland function or treating this condition. Some traditional and anecdotal reports may reference its adaptogenic or stress-relieving properties, but these claims are not substantiated by robust scientific research. Limited studies suggest that eurycomanone may influence stress hormones (such as cortisol) and may have mild anxiolytic and energy-enhancing effects in animal models and small human trials, but these findings do not specifically validate its use for "Adrenal Fatigue." Overall, its use for this purpose is based far more on traditional and anecdotal practices than on modern scientific validation.
