Curcuminoids, the active compounds found in turmeric (Curcuma longa), have been increasingly studied for their potential cardiovascular benefits, including effects on arterial health. Scientific evidence suggests that curcuminoids exert anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and lipid-lowering effects, all of which are relevant to arterial function and the prevention of atherosclerosis. Several clinical trials and meta-analyses have reported that curcuminoid supplementation may improve endothelial function, reduce markers of inflammation (such as C-reactive protein), and decrease LDL cholesterol levels, factors associated with arterial health and reduced cardiovascular risk.

While the underlying mechanisms are plausible and supported by preclinical studies, large-scale, long-term clinical trials are still needed to fully validate the role of curcuminoids in arterial health.
