Diosmetin is a flavonoid aglycone primarily found as a metabolite of diosmin, which is derived from citrus fruits. Diosmin and its metabolite diosmetin have been studied for their vascular protective effects, particularly for supporting venous tone and reducing capillary permeability and fragility. Several clinical trials and reviews have evaluated the use of diosmin (often combined with hesperidin) in chronic venous insufficiency, hemorrhoids, and varicose veins.
