Bovine protein supplements are rich in essential amino acids, including branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) like leucine, which are critical for muscle protein synthesis. Multiple randomized controlled trials and meta-analyses have demonstrated that protein supplementation after resistance or endurance exercise can enhance muscle repair, promote muscle hypertrophy, and help reduce muscle soreness and recovery time. Whey protein, in particular, is rapidly digested and has a high biological value, making it a preferred choice among athletes for acute post-exercise nutrition. Casein, on the other hand, digests more slowly and is often used for sustained amino acid release, such as overnight recovery.
