2,17a-dimethyl-17b-hydroxy-5a-androst-2-ene, also known as "methyldrostanolone" or "superdrol," is a synthetic orally active anabolic-androgenic steroid (AAS). Its use in bodybuilding is primarily supported by scientific understanding of its pharmacological effects. Superdrol is structurally similar to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and has been shown to possess strong anabolic properties with relatively low androgenic activity. It is used by bodybuilders to promote muscle growth, enhance strength, and improve overall physique.
Scientific literature and anecdotal reports affirm its potency in increasing lean muscle mass and strength over short cycles.
