However, its overall amino acid profile is less complete than that of animal-based proteins, as it is relatively low in lysine and tryptophan.
Several studies have shown that corn protein can stimulate muscle protein synthesis due to its high leucine content. For example, research published in the journal Amino Acids (2018) demonstrated that corn protein could be effective at stimulating muscle building when consumed in adequate amounts, though it may need to be supplemented with other protein sources to provide a balanced amino acid intake.
