These mechanisms could theoretically improve blood flow, particularly in individuals with poor circulation due to conditions like chronic venous insufficiency or peripheral artery disease.

A handful of small clinical trials and animal studies have explored bromelain’s effects on blood viscosity and clot formation. For example, research has shown that bromelain supplementation can decrease platelet aggregation and enhance the breakdown of clots, which may be beneficial in managing poor circulation.
