Amor seco is a common name that refers to several plant species, most notably Desmodium adscendens and Bidens pilosa, depending on the region. The traditional use of Amor seco for increasing energy or combating fatigue is primarily rooted in folk medicine, particularly in parts of Latin America and the Caribbean. In these traditions, decoctions or infusions made from the leaves or aerial parts of the plant have been used to address general weakness, tiredness, and to "restore vitality." However, there is a lack of high-quality scientific studies, such as randomized controlled trials, that specifically validate Amor seco’s efficacy in improving energy levels or treating fatigue in humans.
