Beef liver is scientifically supported for use in addressing lack of energy, particularly when the underlying cause is nutritional deficiency—most notably iron deficiency anemia. Beef liver is one of the richest natural sources of heme iron (the form most easily absorbed by the human body), vitamin B12, and other B vitamins such as riboflavin and folate. These nutrients play key roles in red blood cell production and energy metabolism. Iron is essential for hemoglobin formation, which is critical for oxygen transport in the blood; deficiencies can result in fatigue and decreased energy. Vitamin B12 and folate are also necessary for red blood cell synthesis and neurological function.

Several clinical studies and authoritative nutrition sources recognize beef liver as an effective food-based intervention for treating and preventing iron and B12 deficiencies, both of which are linked to symptoms of fatigue and low energy. Notably, beef liver was historically prescribed as a treatment for pernicious anemia before the discovery and synthesis of vitamin B12. The high nutrient density of beef liver means that even small servings can provide significant amounts of these key micronutrients.
