Amor seco is a common name used for several plant species, including Desmodium adscendens and Bidens pilosa, both of which are used in traditional medicine in various regions. In traditional South American and Caribbean herbal medicine, Amor seco has been used as a general tonic and to alleviate symptoms associated with fatigue, weakness, and exhaustion. This traditional use is primarily based on anecdotal evidence and the plant's reputation as a restorative or “strengthening” herb. There are ethnobotanical records documenting the use of Amor seco preparations (such as teas or decoctions) for increasing energy and reducing tiredness, but these do not provide scientific validation of efficacy or mechanism.

There is little to no clinical research or pharmacological evidence specifically investigating the effect of Amor seco on fatigue in humans.
