The rationale for using liquid liver fractions in Fatty Liver Disease (hepatic steatosis) primarily stems from the organ's high content of nutrients such as vitamin B12, folic acid, iron, and various amino acids, which are believed to support overall liver function. Historically, practitioners of naturopathy and early 20th-century physicians recommended liver extracts for a variety of liver conditions, including what is now recognized as fatty liver. However, there is a lack of robust scientific studies directly validating the use of liquid liver fractions for reversing or treating Fatty Liver Disease specifically. Modern clinical guidelines for managing Fatty Liver Disease emphasize weight loss, dietary modification, and management of metabolic risk factors, rather than supplementation with organ extracts. While animal studies and a few older human trials suggest hepatoprotective effects of some liver-derived compounds, these findings are not sufficient to endorse liver fractions as a primary therapy for Fatty Liver Disease.
