Echinacoside is a natural compound primarily found in Echinacea species, especially Echinacea purpurea and Echinacea angustifolia. Traditionally, preparations containing Echinacea, and by extension echinacoside, have been used in herbal medicine to support general health and vitality, particularly for boosting the immune system and aiding in recovery from infections. While the "glandular system" as a body system is a more contemporary or holistic health concept, historical use of Echinacea has sometimes been interpreted as supporting glandular health due to its presumed immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory properties.
There is limited direct scientific evidence linking echinacoside itself to glandular system support, especially regarding endocrine glands. Most traditional uses focus on immune support, which can involve lymphatic tissues and glands like the thymus. Some laboratory studies suggest echinacoside has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities, which could theoretically benefit glandular tissues, but these effects have not been robustly demonstrated in clinical trials specifically targeting the glandular system.
