Dracocephalum, commonly known as Dragonhead, is a genus of plants in the mint family (Lamiaceae) used in traditional medicine systems, particularly in regions of Central Asia, Eastern Europe, and China. In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), species such as Dracocephalum moldavica (Moldavian Dragonhead) have been used to "clear heat" and "relieve headache," especially when headaches are believed to result from excess heat or wind in the body. Traditional uses also include relief from colds, fever, and as a mild sedative, which may be indirectly related to headache relief.

However, while there are some pharmacological studies investigating the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties of Dragonhead extracts, there is minimal direct scientific evidence specifically validating its efficacy for treating headaches. The use for headache is primarily recorded in traditional texts and ethnobotanical surveys rather than controlled clinical trials.
