LH01-myoviridae refers to a bacteriophage, a type of virus that specifically infects and lyses bacteria. Phage therapy, the therapeutic use of bacteriophages to treat pathogenic bacterial infections, has a history dating back to the early 20th century but has seen renewed scientific interest due to the rise of antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
