English Walnut Oil, derived from the nuts of Juglans regia, has been investigated for its potential benefits on memory and brain function due to its rich content of polyunsaturated fatty acids, particularly alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), and various polyphenols. Scientific studies, primarily in animal models, have indicated that walnuts may have neuroprotective effects and could improve cognitive performance. For example, a 2014 study published in the Journal of Nutrition, Health & Aging found that walnut supplementation improved learning and memory in mice. Limited small-scale human studies, such as the 2015 cross-sectional analysis from the NHANES database, have reported an association between walnut consumption and better cognitive scores in adults.

However, the bulk of this evidence focuses on whole walnuts or walnut-rich diets rather than specifically on walnut oil. The oil contains beneficial fatty acids that play roles in brain health, but direct clinical trials using English Walnut Oil as an intervention for memory or cognitive decline in humans are lacking. Thus, while the theoretical basis and some preclinical evidence support a possible effect, robust human data are insufficient.
