Flammulina velutipes (commonly known as Enoki mushroom) has been investigated for its potential role in supporting or treating metabolic syndrome, primarily based on emerging scientific research rather than historical or traditional use. Several preclinical studies, mostly in animal models and in vitro experiments, have shown that extracts from F. velutipes may have beneficial effects on parameters related to metabolic syndrome, such as hyperglycemia, dyslipidemia, and insulin resistance.
