Psyllium is a soluble fiber derived from the husks of Plantago ovata seeds and has been extensively studied for its effects on metabolic health. Additional studies have shown modest reductions in blood pressure and improvements in lipid profiles. While psyllium’s impact on weight loss is minimal, the improvements in glycemic and lipid parameters directly address the pathophysiology of metabolic syndrome.
