Its traditional uses are not specifically aimed at "mitochondrial support" in the way modern supplements often market it, but rather at supporting overall vitality and endurance. There is some scientific interest in eleuthero's effects on physical performance and fatigue, which could have indirect links to mitochondrial function due to the mitochondria's role in cellular energy production. However, direct scientific evidence connecting eleuthero root to improvements in mitochondrial health or function is limited.
