Rating (out of 5): 2

Eleutheroside is a group of active compounds found in Eleutherococcus senticosus (Siberian ginseng), a plant used in traditional medicine, particularly in Russia, China, and other parts of Asia. Historically, Siberian ginseng has been used as an "adaptogen"—a substance said to help the body resist physical, chemical, and biological stressors. In traditional herbal practices, Eleutherococcus and its eleutheroside components have been used to support various conditions, including fatigue, weakness, and sometimes nervousness or mild anxiety, based on the belief that adaptogens promote balance and resilience in the body and mind.

However, the scientific evidence specifically supporting the use of eleutherosides for nervousness is limited. A few clinical studies on Siberian ginseng as an adaptogen have indicated possible benefits for stress and fatigue rather than direct effects on nervousness or anxiety. Most rigorous reviews and clinical trials have not demonstrated significant or conclusive results for the treatment of nervousness. The available evidence is mainly extrapolated from animal studies or small human trials with methodological limitations. Thus, while there is a tradition of use for nervousness, scientific validation remains insufficient, and the evidence supporting its use for this particular condition is weak.
