In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and other herbal practices, cinnamon bark is considered to have warming properties and is often used to support digestive health, including the function of the Small Intestines. It is believed to help with symptoms such as abdominal discomfort, bloating, and flatulence, which are associated with imbalances in the digestive tract. Historical texts and ethnobotanical records frequently list cinnamon as a remedy for various digestive complaints, though these texts often do not distinguish between Cinnamomum burmannii and other cinnamon species.
