The concept of the "Spleen" in TCM differs from the anatomical spleen in Western medicine; it refers to a broader system associated with digestion, energy, and transformation of food. Some traditional formulas include Andrographis for conditions believed to involve "damp-heat" or toxin accumulation affecting the Spleen system. However, the evidence specifically supporting Andrographis for the Spleen system is based mostly on traditional usage rather than modern pharmacological studies.
