Classical Ayurvedic texts describe its use for managing conditions like splenomegaly (enlarged spleen), anemia, and disorders related to the digestive tract. The fruit, bark, and leaves are used in various herbal formulations intended to "strengthen" the spleen, improve digestion, and balance bodily humors (doshas). The rationale is largely based on empirical observations and the doctrine of signatures rather than on modern biomedical mechanisms.

From a scientific standpoint, there is limited research specifically validating the benefits of Cluster Fig for the spleen in humans.
