Nicotinamide Mononucleotide (NMN) is a precursor to nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+), a molecule involved in energy metabolism and cellular health. Elevated triglycerides are a risk factor for cardiovascular disease, and some preclinical studies suggest that boosting NAD+ levels via NMN supplementation may positively affect lipid metabolism. In animal studies, NMN administration has been associated with improved lipid profiles, including reductions in triglyceride levels, likely due to enhanced mitochondrial function and improved insulin sensitivity.
However, human clinical data are currently limited. A few small human trials have explored NMN’s safety and metabolic effects, but robust, direct evidence for significant triglyceride lowering in humans is lacking.
