Rating (out of 5): 2

Lady's Mantle (Alchemilla vulgaris) has a long history of use in traditional herbal medicine, particularly in Europe. Historically, it has been employed to address a variety of women's health issues, wound healing, and as a general astringent. Its use to support the veins, specifically for venous insufficiency or varicose veins, is rooted mainly in its astringent properties, which were believed to help "tighten" and tone tissues, including blood vessels. Folk medicine texts and herbalists have recommended Lady's Mantle for its purported ability to reduce swelling and improve the tone of the veins, although these uses are not always specific to modern concepts of venous health.

However, there is very limited scientific research directly examining Lady's Mantle for venous support. Most of the available evidence is anecdotal or based on traditional use rather than clinical trials. The plant contains tannins, which have astringent effects and could theoretically offer some benefit in reducing minor bleeding or inflammation, but direct effects on vein structure or function have not been substantiated in scientific studies. As such, the evidence supporting Lady's Mantle for vein health is primarily traditional, with a modest historical basis but little robust scientific validation.
