In Ayurveda, ashwagandha is sometimes recommended for various skin disorders, including vitiligo, though it is not a specific or central remedy for this condition. The rationale in traditional practice is largely based on ashwagandha's reputed ability to balance the body's doshas, reduce stress, and possibly support immune health, all of which are thought to help with chronic conditions, including some skin depigmentation issues.

From a scientific perspective, there is extremely limited evidence to support the use of ashwagandha for vitiligo.
