MegaMucosa

MegaMucosa is a capsule-form supplement designed to support the structural and immune integrity of the intestinal mucosal barrier. It is intended for adults dealing with compromised gut barrier function, chronic digestive symptoms, or conditions associated with increased intestinal permeability. The capsule format delivers the same three-component formula as the powder version and serves as the "rebuild" phase of Microbiome Labs' Total Gut Restoration protocol.

The formula addresses mucosal health through three complementary mechanisms. The amino acid blend — L-proline, L-serine, L-threonine, and L-cysteine — supplies the substrates the body requires to synthesize mucin2, the dominant structural glycoprotein of the intestinal mucus layer. ImmunoLin®, the serum-derived immunoglobulin concentrate, is produced without dairy and delivers IgG, IgM, and IgA in a form that survives transit through the GI tract. MicrobiomeX®, a standardized citrus polyphenol extract from Citrus sinensis and Citrus paradisi, supports the growth of beneficial microbes that produce butyrate and other short-chain fatty acids, which are themselves cofactors in mucin synthesis and colonocyte health.

The mucosal surface of the gastrointestinal tract is the primary physical and immunological interface between the body and the external environment. When mucosal integrity is compromised, endotoxins such as lipopolysaccharides (LPS) gain access to submucosal immune tissue, triggering ongoing immune activation.
