Omega Ultra SPM

Omega Ultra SPM (formerly MegaMarine) is a full-spectrum fish oil softgel formulated specifically to support gut microbiome health, intestinal barrier function, and immune regulation. It is intended for adults and children ages 8 and older who want comprehensive omega-3 support with a formulation rationale grounded in gastrointestinal physiology rather than cardiovascular or cognitive applications alone. Each two-softgel serving provides 1,500 mg EPA, 850 mg DHA, 450 mg DPA, and 100 mg of naturally occurring pro-resolving mediators (PRMs), sourced from highly refined and concentrated marine oil derived from anchovy, sardine, and mackerel, with natural lemon flavor and mixed tocopherols.

The formulation is intentionally differentiated from standard fish oil products in two ways. First, most fish oil supplements on the market are formulated with a DHA-dominant ratio to target brain and cognitive health — a ratio that is less optimal for gut support, where EPA plays a more central role in maintaining mucosal integrity and modulating the intestinal immune environment. Omega Ultra SPM reverses this ratio, providing nearly twice as much EPA as DHA per serving. A study published in Scientific Reports found that omega-3 supplementation increased microbial diversity, specifically supporting Bifidobacterium, Akkermansia muciniphila, and Lactobacillus populations — three keystone species associated with healthy gut barrier and immune function.
