Obesity The Fastest Growing Health Concern

Over one third of Americans have at least one chronic health condition. And guess what the leading one is? Obesity. Close to 79 million adults are obese, resulting in an annual price tag of $147 billion in healthcare and related spending. Obesity is also the root cause of some of the leading chronic conditions, including heart disease, stroke and diabetes. So how do we address this issue.

Number one is we have to get up and move. Yes, the one word that some dread…exercise. As technology has increased movement has decreased. We don’t even get up to change the channel on the television anymore. Heck, a lot of people are now watching television on their computer or smart phone. In my opinion, in a lot of ways, we’ve become a lazy nation. We always look for ways to make things easier or get out of doing them all together. Look at the number of landscape companies around. W>e don’t even like cutting our grass or working in the yard. I remember as a kid seeing my parents always working in the yard. One of my first jobs as a kid was cutting grass for my parents and the neighbors. Now we just hire a landscape company to do it all.

We’ve just become too sedentary in our ways. But exercise doesn’t mean running a marathon. Just walking briskly a minimum of 20 minutes a day four or five days a week will start to change your body for the good. And if you do it for 30 days, you’ve created a good habit that will pay dividends long term. That’s part one to the equation.

Part two is eating right and healthy. As obesity has increased so has the number of all you can eat food bars, fast food restaurants and bakeries(i.e. donut shops). Everyone is always looking for the buffet, the quick meal in a bag or satisfying their sweet tooth. In addition it seems that all events are tied around a meal or food of some sort. Which is not bad in and of itself. But we have to learn how to limit our portions and not overeat.

I believe the last part of the equation is taking the proper supplements to fill in where the diet lacks. When we don’t eat right our bodies don’t get all the vitamins and minerals that they require. That makes it even more important to supplement and make sure we’re giving our body what it needs.

Vitabase has products to help fill in where the diet is lacking as well as to boost the metabolism and assist in the weight loss. You may want to start with Vitabase Enfuz(Basic) or Vitabase Life’s Essentials Plus as your multivitamin. Then add Vitabase Fucoxanthin Plus to assist you with your weight loss. Whatever the case may be. It’s time to start getting back to that healthy weight and quit being another statistic in the are of weight.
