MY BODY SEEMS TO BE VERY ACID WHAT CAN I TAKE TO BECOME MORE ALKILINE?

Generally it is understood that an alkaline environment in the body is more conducive to overall health.  An acid environment is more closely correlated to chronic conditions such as inflammation and cancer.

First you must evaluate your acid/alkaline balance by measuring the pH of both your saliva and your urine.  This can be done by purchasing some litmus paper which will easily give you an accurate reading of your pH levels.  Ideally, you want pH levels to be 7 (neutral) or above.  Values lower than 6 indicate your internal environment is more acidic than optimal.

The foods you consume have a huge impact on acid/alkaline balance.  Coffee, alcohol, sugar and red meat will create a more acidic environment, while the consumption of vegetables and green based foods will promote a more alkaline environment.

The first thing to do is to examine your diet and start to reduce the amount of sugar, refined carbohydrates, alcohol, coffee and red meat and start increasing your consumption of vegetables.  If you are finding that you still have an acidic environment I would recommend starting some type of green supplement.  By this I mean a supplement that contains high concentrations of extracts of green plants like wheat grass, chlorella, spirulina and other edible dark leafy green plants.  These typically work very well to shift a person’s acid/alkaline balance more in the direction of alkalinity particularly if that person is also making the appropriate dietary changes mentioned above.
