Designs for Health is a family-owned company founded in 1989 by Jonathan Lizotte and his wife, Linda, originally dedicated to nutritional counseling. Today the brand carries a portfolio of over 300 products, and we stock 60 of them — spanning supplements, functional foods, and diagnostic test kits — all built on what the company calls its Science-First™ founding philosophy.

With employees across three continents — North America, Oceania, and Asia — Designs for Health offers high-quality nutritional supplements and functional foods to health care professionals and their patients. Over 90% of Designs for Health supplements are manufactured in company-owned plants in Arlee, Montana and Henderson, Nevada. The company operates a global network of manufacturing facilities producing capsules, tablets, softgels, powders, liquids, bars, and specialty items such as soft-chewables and topicals. Designs for Health directly controls the majority of its manufacturing requirements and contracts with select contract manufacturers for each product-manufacturing category.

All Designs for Health ingredients are tested against their specifications for potency, purity, and identity — and against contamination — at external ISO-certified laboratories. Every nutritional supplement is evaluated and monitored for potential contaminants such as unspecified materials, heavy metals, pesticides, and microbiological organisms. Every supplement is also analyzed to confirm the quantity of all dietary ingredients, ensuring the consistency and accuracy of label claims.

The company maintains a strict quality policy and supplier qualification program. Every supplier must undergo a formal qualification process to evaluate procedures and activities related to the manufacture, packaging, and holding of dietary ingredients and finished dietary supplements.

Certifications

Designs for Health products are manufactured at FDA-inspected facilities that conform to one or more of the following industry standards and certifications: NPA (Natural Products Association), NSF, OTC (Over the Counter Drug GMPs), TGA (Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration), and the FDA Dietary Supplement Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
