Sinopsis
Las picaduras y mordeduras ocurren cuando insectos, arácnidos, u otras criaturas perforan la piel, ya sea como mecanismo de defensa (picaduras) o mientras se alimentan (mordeduras). Los culpables más comunes incluyen mosquitos, abejas, avispas, arañas, garrapatas, pulgas, y hormigas. La mayoría de las mordeduras y picaduras causan síntomas leves como picazón, hinchazón, dolor, o enrojecimiento en el sitio, pero en algunos casos, pueden desencadenar reacciones alérgicas, infecciones, o transmisión de enfermedades (p. ej., enfermedad de Lyme por garrapatas, malaria por mosquitos).
